The 2008 SIVE Equine Congress will provide a scientific programme with 3 parallel tiers of lectures.
Owing to the presence of international invited speakers, the congress will be an educational opportunity for both specialised practitioners and students or new graduates.

THE CONGRESS VENUE
The Congress Venue “Palazzo del Casinò” is an imposing building located at the Venice Lido and it features elegant Venetian-style salons with all facilities and modern audiovisual equipments. The “Palazzo del Casinò” hosts every year several important international events, among which the best known is the Venice International Film Festival.
THE CITY OF VENICE
Venice is universally acclaimed one of the world’s most beautiful cities and it is certainly one of the most unusual. The buildings appear so delicately suspended above the water. The many canals are a unique sight with an incredible parade of ancient palaces and monuments. Venice is full of excellent typical restaurant with fine local food and it offers a lot of entertainments: concerts, city tours, boat tours, gondolas, museums, the casinò and the famous Carnival (that in 2008 will occur in the same period as SIVE Congress!).
The Venice Lido is an elongated island in the Venetian lagoon and it is considered a very popular tourist resort. Bordered by a great stretch of sandy beach, it vaunts excellent facilities and a very nice atmosphere.
ACCESS
Venice is located in the North-East of Italy and it is very easy to reach from everywhere by plane, by car and by train. Venice Airport is connected to 103 international destinations all over the world in 4 continents. An hydroplane service links the Venice Lido and the other islands to the different areas of the city.
SOCIAL PROGRAMME
SIVE will arrange an extensive social programme for participants and for their accompanying
persons including the “Opening Ceremony”, the “Masqued Dinner” with live music & late night dancing and the “Goodbye Dinner”.
POST-CONGRESS AND BY NIGHT TOURS
Venice is one of the most visited cities in the world for its treasures. For partners, families
or accompanying persons SIVE will organize some tourist itineraries and walks to discover Venice and its historical centre, Murano, Burano and Torcello islands and the quiet atmosphere of the lagoon landscapes, as well as the art treasures
hidden in the many churches and museums of the city.
