Using a case-based format, we will explore the diagnosis and management of diabetes mellitus. Recent advances in the management and monitoring diabetes mellitus will be presented. Successful management of diabetes requires a team approach. As a nurse, you are a vital member of the management and monitoring team; you will work with owners of diabetic pets on a daily basis and you’ll often be the first port of call for owners when they have concerns. Communication and education are the keys to successful management. This, interactive, case-based, one-day CPD course will provide you with the understanding that you need to assist with the care of this fascinating illness and also to derive greater job satisfaction.

Using seminars and case studies we will illustrate how the findings of the emergency clinical examination lead to the formulation of an effective initial treatment plan and improve your chances of a successful outcome. During the course, we will cover effective triage nursing, logical patient assessment, and the typical presentations of specific emergency conditions and how to stabilise those cases.
